1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function efficiently, to provide information to site operators, and to enable certain features. This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies (such as localStorage and sessionStorage) the DC Energy Intelligence Platform uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

2. How We Use Cookies and Local Storage

The Platform uses cookies and browser storage technologies for the following purposes:

2.1 Essential (Strictly Necessary)

These are required for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled without impairing core functionality.

TechnologyPurposeDuration
localStorage: theme preferenceStores your selected display theme (dark/light) to maintain visual consistency across sessions.Persistent until cleared
localStorage: analysis historyStores your generated analysis request history locally on your device so you can review and reuse previous configurations.Persistent until cleared
localStorage: MPPT session dataStores your deep analysis session identifiers and user identifiers to maintain continuity across analysis jobs.Persistent until cleared
sessionStorage: session stateMaintains temporary session state for active analysis workflows.Browser session only

2.2 Analytics

These technologies help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform, which pages are visited most frequently, and where users encounter issues. Analytics data is used to improve Platform performance and user experience.

TechnologyPurposeDuration
Analytics tracking scriptCollects anonymized usage data including page views, feature interactions, session duration, and referral sources.Varies by provider

We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. The Platform does not serve targeted advertisements or share cookie data with advertising networks.

3. Third-Party Cookies

The Platform may load resources from third-party services (such as font providers or CDN services) that may set their own cookies. These third-party cookies are governed by the respective privacy policies of those services. We do not control the cookies set by third parties and recommend reviewing their policies directly.

4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You have several options for managing cookies and local storage:

  • Browser Settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings menu. Consult your browser's help documentation for specific instructions. Note that blocking essential cookies may impair Platform functionality.
  • Clearing Local Storage: You can clear all locally stored data (analysis history, preferences, session data) by clearing your browser's site data for dcenergy.tech. In most browsers, this can be done through Settings, then Privacy, then Clear Browsing Data, or through the browser's developer tools.
  • Incognito/Private Browsing: Using your browser's private browsing mode will prevent persistent cookies and local storage from being retained after you close the browser window.

If you are located in a jurisdiction that requires opt-in consent for non-essential cookies, analytics cookies will not be activated until you provide consent. You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and local storage for this site.

5. Impact of Disabling Cookies

If you choose to disable or delete cookies and local storage, the following functionality will be affected:

  • Your analysis history will not be preserved between sessions.
  • Your theme preference will reset to the default on each visit.
  • Deep analysis session continuity may be interrupted, requiring you to start new sessions.
  • The Platform will continue to function for core analysis generation, but personalization features will be unavailable.

6. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. There is currently no industry-wide standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. The Platform does not currently alter its data collection practices in response to DNT signals. If a standard is adopted in the future, we will update this Policy accordingly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
